Jarrod Saltalamacchia (born May 2, 1985 in West Palm Beach, Florida) is currently a catcher for the Texas Rangers. He was originally drafted in the 1st round of the 2003 Major League Baseball draft by the Atlanta Braves as the 36th overall pick. He made his MLB debut for the Braves on May 2nd, 2007 and played 47 games for Atlanta before being traded to the Rangers on July 31st, 2007 along with 4 other prospects for Mark Teixeira and Ron Mahay.
